Project Spark
In June 2024, ANC launched Project Spark – an ambitious program to roll-out Australia’s largest fleet of last mile Electric Vehicles.
Over 100 last mile EV's on the road, and counting...
ANC has recently achieved a major milestone - accelerating past 100 electric vehicles on the road.
And this is just the beginning. We’re committed to transitioning 30% of our total fleet to electric by 2028.
The future of last mile delivery is electric, and we couldn’t be more excited!

Our EV fleet by the numbers

100+ EV's in the fleet
Our EV fleet is made up of custom designed JAC N90 trucks and LDV eDeliver 9 Cab Chassis vehicles, plus LDV electric vans and a few tuk-tuks. It's a versatile fleet built for efficiency.

11% of our monthly deliveries
11% of all client deliveries are now zero-emission, marking 37% progress toward our goal of 30% EV deliveries by 2028. We’ve avoided 74,000 kg of CO₂ — equivalent to taking 24 cars off the road for a year.

Every km. Every kilo. Every delivery counts.
Our zero emissions vehicles travelled 154,000 km, and moved nearly 2 million kg of freight — all emissions-free. This is what progress looks like, and we couldn't be prouder of our team.

Clients who are leading the charge

Temple & Webster
We’re proud to be working with Temple & Webster to reduce carbon emissions through increased route density & zero emissions delivery vehicles (14 introduced so far & growing).

IKEA
IKEA are well known as a sustainability leader, and we're delighted to support their goal to deliver over 90% of their customer orders with zero emissions vehicles by 2026.

Who Gives a Crap
Who Gives a Crap exist to uncrap the world! They're B Corp certified, FSC certified and donate 50% of their profits to those who need clean water and toilets. We love helping them with zero emissions delivery.
ARENA funding agreement
Project Spark is supported by a significant funding agreement with the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) to accelerate the electrification of our delivery fleet.
Our EV roll-out will be supported by ARENA as part of its Driving the Nation program – an ongoing initiative aimed at enabling the deployment of new zero emissions vehicle technologies.
ARENA's commitment of $12.8m will help to close the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) gap for our Delivery Professionals as they transition to EV's.

Watch: ARENA funding announcement
Joe Sofra (CEO) and Mo Abbas (Chief Growth and Sustainability Officer) talk about our fleet electrification plans supported by ARENA.
Better for customers, better for Australia
"We’re thrilled to receive support from ARENA for this groundbreaking project”, said Joe Sofra, ANC CEO.
"As a company committed to sustainability and innovation, this initiative represents a significant step forward in our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint and lead the transition to a greener future."
“We believe this project will not only drive environmental benefits but will also demonstrate that EV’s can lead to operational efficiencies and increased customer satisfaction in the last mile, paving the way for broader EV adoption in the industry.”
Charging infrastructure and operational discovery
We’re still learning every day about how to optimise EV's in the real world. And one of the key learnings is that you must establish the right operational infrastructure to support the technology. That’s why our EV roll-out programme also includes the installation of 112 charging stations to power the EV fleet.
This strategic charging infrastructure will be used to support daytime operations and ensure optimal vehicle uptime and reliability.

Benefits for our Clients
The total cost of ownership (TCO) gap of operating an internal combustion engine (ICE) versus a battery electric vehicle (BEV) has been one of the primary factors that has limited EV adoption. The ARENA funding agreement enables a moderated TCO up-charge which will limit the cost impact to clients.
This funding also enhances our ability to build expertise in managing a large fleet of battery electric vehicles (BEVs), and achieve economies of scale, further minimising the total cost of ownership gap over time.
We operate a mixed-modal charging strategy, reducing our reliance on clients to install charging infrastructure. With 112 new electric vehicles and charging stations to be deployed over the next 2 years, we can ensure optimal up-time and reliability for our client's deliveries, supporting their commitment to consistent, timely, sustainable service.
The driver for change
In 2020, 38% of Australia’s transport-related CO2 emissions were from light and heavy commercial vehicles. That’s why we believe a business like ours has an opportunity, and an obligation, to lead the industry towards a lower carbon last mile.
Our journey towards electrification is already well underway and in the past year we have grown our electric fleet to 72 vehicles – with a mixed fleet of JAC EV trucks, LDV cab-chassis and vans.
