What you do at ANC?

I’m the ACT State Manager and have been with ANC for since 2012. As a regional office, I wear many hats from managing the state through to customer service, accounting, allocator, attending monthly client meetings and when needed I also make deliveries. A versatile role where no two days are the same.

Transport career experience?

I started in the late 1990’s as a Courier Driver for DHL. This opened many doors and I soon relocated to the Middle East. My first role was in Dubai as a Customer Operations and Implementation Manager before moving to Jordan as a Road Operations Manager where I would negotiate customs at each border with deliveries being made within hours not days. My last role before moving back to Australia was in Saudi Arabia as the Transport Manager, where I was responsible for over 500 employees. The environment at the time was very volatile with safety my absolute priority. In 2012, I made the decision with my wife to come home to Australia.

Favourite part of your job?

The people. The culture at ANC is next to none. We are lucky enough to work in a business that has a family atmosphere when you know the CEO and MD are only a phone call away and always willing to help. I’m proud of my team. I feel we have the right people in the right roles and we all work in sync.

How would you describe ANC if it was a person?

A person you are proud of. The more you care and nurture, the more they grow and thrive.

What do you like to do when you are not working?

In my spare time, I spend many hours renovating our family home which is rewarding. For relaxation, I enjoy fishing and spending time with our much-loved chihuahua, Mia.
