What do you do at ANC?

I am the State Manager for NSW and ACT.

Transport career experience?

An accountant by profession, I have worked in logistics operations since the mid 90’s joining McPhee Transport and then Finemores, specialising in express parcels, automotive, floor coverings (uglies) and refrigerated, across both transport and 3PL.

Favourite part of your job?

No two days are the same, and there is never a dull moment. Just when you think you can take a breath something else will come onto the radar.

What do you like to do when you are not working?

Spending time with my family, cooking, exercising, watching my son’s sport and discovering wineries.

How do you help ANC deliver extraordinary experiences?

Consistently exceeding expectations whilst managing those expectations.

Julius Waras Carstensen

What do you do at ANC?

I am the State Manager in Victoria with my focus on supporting my team’s management and reporting on operational progress and achievements.

Transport career experience?

14 years in the industry spanning across multi-modal services within Customer Service, Depot Management, Warehouse Operations, Sales and National Contract Management.

Favourite part of your job?

The people I work with. I have been lucky enough to work alongside like-minded, supportive people with aligned professional goals and business outcomes that motivate me to be better..

How would you describe ANC if it was a person?

Molly Meldrum. Interesting, caring, diverse and everybody loves him. I have loved every minute of ANC since I started.

What do you like to do when you are not working?

Family and friends are number one. I have a large extended family and an exceptionally supportive partner who I now share a child, home and life with. Recreationally I am a very passionate supporter of the Richmond FC and still play myself. I am close to the end of my playing days, I am looking forward to sharing my football passion with my young son who is already brainwashed (got in early on that).

How do you help ANC deliver extraordinary experiences?

By doing my bit as part of a wider team. Leading, supporting, driving client outcomes and always looking to seize additional opportunities. One of ANC’s great qualities is the passion and care that everyone shows for each other and the outcomes for our clients, I make sure that I control what I am good at and trust that everyone else does the same.

Kristian Houe

What you do at ANC?

I am the QLD State Manager.

Transport career experience?

I have worked with ANC since 2016. I enjoy using the operational and logistics experience I gained from the Danish Army, where I was involved in operations in Kosovo and Afghanistan.

Favourite part of your job?

I enjoy that no days are the same, and that I get to work with many different people. I particularly enjoy working with our many delivery professionals (contractors), and I enjoy the day-to-day problem-solving and improving our business operations.

What do you like to do when you are not working?

I enjoy camping, cooking and playing piano.

Samuel Rhodes

What you do at ANC?

I am the State Manager of South Australia and Western Australia, overviewing all operations and financial outcomes for both states.

Transport career experience?

I have been working with ANC since 2006. I have worked across multiple areas of the company including operations, sales, administration and account management. This broad experience has helped me build a strong understanding and knowledge of the business and our portfolio of clients.

Favourite part of your job?

ANC’s culture is a huge part of why I choose to call ANC home every day. Plus having great, enthusiastic, skilled, driven, capable staff and drivers to rely on day in and day out.

What do you like to do when you are not working?

I have a passion and interest for the wine industry while trying to stay as active as I can both mentally and physically.

How do you help ANC deliver extraordinary experiences?

Delivering upon expectation of our client and customer, helping make ANC a brand is not just remembered, but ultimately something our customers rely on and trust. Ensuring that we deliver on what has been promised in a consistent and professional way, while leaving a positive and memorable experience with the customer every time.

David Allen

What you do at ANC?

I plan and direct our information processing activities and coordinate the effective implementation and operation of the IT systems. This includes vision and leadership for maintaining present and future technology infrastructure. My team achieves this by delivering the IT strategy and implementing all initiatives for ANC.

Transport career experience?

I have worked in the IT industry since 1990 in various technical and IT management roles. I have worked in several industries including retail, biopharmaceutical and health insurance.

Favourite part of your job?

I am passionate about providing outstanding IT services and enjoy the challenge of operating in a technology focused environment incorporating new technologies, and making collaborative relationships across multiple departments and teams throughout the ANC business to deliver a first rate IT service and provide the necessary tools to achieve this.

How would you describe ANC if it was a person?

I would describe ANC as a friend, who is trustworthy and loyal, who gives you the encouragement to strive to be the best you can be.

What do you like to do when you are not working?

I like spending time with my four children, family and friends. I am a car enthusiast owning a Holden V8 and watching V8 supercars and the inaugural Bathurst 1000. I also like to wind down at times and watch a good movie or some comedies such as Seinfeld, which is one of my favourites.

I help to make sure that ANC’s technology platform is delivering the initiatives and continuous improvements for robust, reliable, secure and innovative systems to help improve the customer’s delivery experience for our clients.
