What do you do at ANC?

I am a crane truck driver at ANC.

Transport career experience?

I have spent 12 years on the ANC fleet and previously worked as a Pantech truck driver. I have worked on lots of contracts including Telstra, Fuji Xerox and IKEA.

Favourite part of your job?

I like the partnership between ANC and our clients, going to new places every day and meeting new people, particularly the staff and customers at Bunnings.

What do you like to do when you are not working?

Spending time with my family and watching soccer. I am a die-hard Arsenal supporter and love to watch the game regardless of how early. I do not have much free time as I work six days a week, so I’m always with my kids on Sunday.

What do you think delivering extraordinary experiences means?

Safety first and foremost by ensuring the product, customer and everyone is safe. Ensuring we meet Bunnings and the customers’ expectations and everyone is satisfied.

Adam Khammo

What do you do at ANC?

I’m primarily focused on Miele. At ANC, I strive to meet our company and client objectives to obtain customer value by providing a professional delivery experience.

Transport career experience?

I have an accounting background, however I made the decision to switch to the transport industry in 2017. The first year in the industry I worked for a large furniture company where I delivered to stores and other warehouses before making the move over to ANC.

Favourite part of your job?

Knowing that I have made a change to our customer’s day. That means being able to deliver and provide exceptional services by taking care of their purchase from the distribution centre to their home, and the critical last mile piece of installation, which many people would struggle to do on their own. I also enjoy meeting new people and interacting with people at work where it’s a friendly and safe environment.

What do you like to do when you are not working?

Spend time with friends and family. Go out to bars, restaurants and go on new adventures (when COVID conditions allow us). I also play football with the boys.

What do you think delivering extraordinary experiences means?

To me, extraordinary experiences means that you go above and beyond to help customers who need it most and especially those in need. There have been times where I’ve had a delivery for a customer who hadn’t paid for installation but wanted our help. When you see things from a different perspective you see there are people who struggle, trying their best to provide for their family. Sometimes a small act of kindness during the delivery process goes a long way and means the world to these families.

Alana Beard

What you do at ANC?

I manage ANC’s national clients and ensure we comply with, and exceed, our agreed service levels. I’m also responsible for developing and implementing processes designed to continuously improve the entire delivery chain of responsibility.

Transport career experience?

I worked for 12 years in transport and logistics recruitment and I’ve been with ANC for eight fantastic months.

Favourite part of your job?

Our awesome team!

How would you describe ANC if it was a person?

Fiercely loyal, Honest, over achiever, caring, does not settle for mediocre.

What do you like to do when you are not working?

Whipping up meals (and eating them), running, playing sports (soccer mainly) and hiking – to counter balance all that cooking and eating!

How do you help ANC deliver extraordinary experiences?

In my role, it’s about being the bond, the connector, between our operations teams and clients. I work closely with dedicated delivery drivers, the operational support teams and clients to ensure we’re doing all things the best way possible, for everyone, every time.

Alex Tenner

What you do at ANC?

I am the Major Account Manager looking after National Clients here in WA Bunnings, Barbeques Galore and as well as our locally based clients Zirco Data, Bevchain and Rinnai.

Transport career experience?

I have 29 years experience in the transport industry. At the age of 19 I started my own courier company which I later sold in 2004, that same year I joined ANC. Time really does fly by.

Favourite part of your job?

Meeting face to face, making it personable yet professional and finding solutions for our clients.

How would you describe ANC if it was a person?

Thomas Edison, and his response to a reporter asking him what it felt like to fail 10,000 times during his attempts to invent the commercial light globe,  “ I have not failed once. I have succeeded in proving that those 10,000 ways will not work. When I have eliminated the ways that will not work. I will find the way that will work.” 

What do you like to do when you are not working?

Spending time with my wife & baby daughter, and football, football and more football. 

How do you help ANC deliver extraordinary experiences?

By having the right mindset that there’s always a solution you just have to find it by looking outside the box. 

Amy La Cioppa

What you do at ANC?

My primary task is to support the General Manager and team of National Account Managers and Business Development Managers with whatever they need to effectively fulfill their roles and service our clients.  I also maintain our client’s transport and logistics KPI reports, analyse data for tenders and manage the Power BI reporting system.

Transport career experience?

I have over ten years experience in customer service and worked as a Personal Assistant for eight years. I started at ANC in 2010 in customer service and since then I have gained extensive knowledge from working in different teams on different projects during my time at ANC.

Favourite part of your job?

The wonderful people that I get to work with. We really do have a great team at ANC.

How would you describe ANC if it was a person?

Friendly, family orientated and fair. If you look after ANC, then ANC will look after you. They really do care for and value the team. No one here is just a number.

What do you like to do when you are not working?

Spending time with my family, we love to go out on little adventures and give our daughter Kara lots of new and exciting experiences. I also enjoying going for walks with my dog Koda. My favourite time of the day is when everything is done, sitting down to watch a good TV show or movie.

How do you help ANC deliver extraordinary experiences?

Through our detailed transport delivery analysis and reports I get invaluable insight into how things are tracking – to help our delivery drivers and clients make continuous improvements. It can be delivery times, best routes, demurrage and many other measurements. For the client, the information will often drive costs down and performance up. And for drivers the data presents opportunities to spend less time waiting, and more time doing extra deliveries and earning more. A win win for everyone involved.

Andrew D’Urso

What do you do at ANC?

I’m an Owner Driver delivering for Bunnings, Barbeques Galore and Telstra. I love the variety, from a big barbeque to a box of nails or nine doors.

Transport career experience?

Before joining ANC, I was an Audio-visual Technician working in live events for 10+ years. I worked for international acts touring Australia, the corporate sector and most recently, I spent the past six years in the hospitality sector. My industry got hit hard by COVID. Back in March 2020, within a week my entire calendar became empty as every event was cancelled. I needed to do something and wanted to be in an industry that is customer focused because I enjoy meeting different people and making sure everyone is happy.

Favourite part of your job?

I love being out and about, and every day is different. I get to meet and interact with different people including customers, the team at ANC including other contractor Owner Drivers. What I like most of all are the interactions with the customers who are happy to see you because you’re delivering something they need.

What do you like to do when you’re not working?

I enjoy spending time with family and friends, and getting out on the motorbike on a nice day.

What do you think delivering extraordinary experiences mean?

Making sure you meet the expectation of not only the customer but the client you are delivering for. This includes being punctual, well presented and friendly, and always with a smile on your face. You want to leave a positive lasting impression with every customer.

Ben Sciuto

What do you do at ANC?

I am the Onsite Transport Manager.

Transport career experience?

I previously managed the warehouse for a national fencing company. This involved me allocating work for 30 contractors and organising both local and interstate transport. This gave me a great understanding of fatigue management for drivers and weight limits for each type of truck.

Favourite part of your job?

Meeting the customer’s requests for special delivery requirements or urgent deliveries.

How would you describe ANC if it was a person?

That long-term friend that can always be relied on and would never let you down.

What do you like to do when you are not working?

I enjoy keeping fit by regularly attending the gym and spending time with my family.

Ensuring that both my drivers and I follow the five core values which ANC holds in such high regard: Safety, Respect, Honesty, Loyalty and Care!

Bernie Wheeler

What do you do at ANC?

I am a Ute Owner Driver in WA, delivering predominately for Bunnings Warehouse. I have been working with ANC since 2016.

Transport career experience?

Prior to becoming a Delivery Professional, my background was quite diverse. After moving to Australia from New Zealand, I was a butcher by trade in the large supermarket chains. I worked my way up to Meat Manager in country WA. We decided to move to Perth when our children were ready to start school, where I took on store management roles. From here I progressed into the corporate offices with a role liaising between the company and suppliers. After reassessing my direction I changed industries and worked for Prime Commercial Laundry supplying to hospitals. After eighteen months, I decided to pursue my interest in becoming an Owner Driver. As they say, things are meant to be. My wife worked next door to ANC and asked about the delivery professional roles available, and here I am today.

Favourite part of your job?

Moving over from the corporate world, I really appreciate being out and about driving in the WA sunshine. My favourite part of the job would have to be delivering to the customer. I am lucky enough to meet a lot of different people each day, everyone has a story to tell, it keeps the days interesting and diverse.

What do you like to do when you’re not working?

I love to spend my time with the family and enjoy a good BBQ with friends. Music is a passion of mine, I enjoy unwinding and listening to old vinyl records on the turntable. Travelling is another way I like to spend my free time now that the children are older, we try and make time to do this as often as possible.

What do you think delivering extraordinary experiences mean?

Being a delivery driver means you are the last drop in the chain. I believe achieving an excellent experience involves always being professional, helpful, reliable and pleasant. As a delivery professional, we have an opportunity to create the all-important lasting impression, not only for ANC but also for our clients.

Chris Tanner

What do you do at ANC?

I am the Operations Manager for ANC in South Australia, working closely with our key accounts to maintain the link between the Sales and Operations.

Transport career experience?

I started at ANC in 2009, working for two years as a Business Development Manager. I then transferred into the Call Centre (truck and courier dispatch areas) to implement efficiencies and improvements in this critical department. I subsequently progressed to Fleet Services Manager and then Operations Manager. Highlights include watching the business grow and helping establish the ANC Western Australia team and office functions.

Favourite part of your job?

3.Assisting my colleagues in rectifying issues that arise daily in this type of dynamic business, and developing strategies and best practices to ensure we don’t get repeat problems.

What do you like to do when you are not working?

Relaxing at home with the grand children and family. I also volunteer with the local Country Fire Service which I enjoy.

What do you think delivering extraordinary experiences means?

In our industry, making a delivery that the customer can’t believe we can do, and when its done on time, in full, they are ecstatic, which makes it all worthwhile.

Christian Fercher

What you do at ANC?

I am the Onsite Transport Manager at Bunzl

Transport career experience?

16 years on the road as a courier driver with Fleets Flyers and ANC. Fleet Manager for ANC, importing & exporting experience for OCS Australia on behalf of ANC. Onsite Customer Service at Laminex, Cement Australia and Bunzl.

Favourite part of your job?

Working together as one big team (Bunzl staff and ANC drivers).

How would you describe ANC if it was a person?

Hard working, proud and honest.

What do you like to do when you are not working?

Play golf as often as I can.
